Sergeant Deos was born in Columbia, SC on 20 Sep 66. Two weeks
after graduating from C.A. Johnson High School, he left for basic training
at Lackland AFB, TX where he was proficiency advanced to graduation in
15 days. Sergeant Deos then attended technical training in the
administrative career field at Keesler AFB, MS. Sergeant Deos' first
assignment was to Andersen AFB, Guam where he worked in the
Suggestion Office of the 43d Combat Support Group. While on Guam,
he took the opportunity to travel to Korea, Japan and the Philippines. In
Jan 1986, Sergeant Deos arrived at Dyess AFB, TX and was assigned to
the 772d Tactical Airlift Squadron where he worked in the unit orderly
room and eventually became the NCOIC. While assigned to the 772d,
he deployed on three European rotations, the last one of which was in
direct support of Operation DESERT SHIELD, in the fall of 1990. In 1991,
Sergeant Deos was selected to work in the Headquarters Administration
Section of the 463d Airlift Wing. Later the same year, he was handpicked
to stand-up the new wing protocol office. In 1993, Sergeant Deos had a
major role in the inactivation of the 463d and standup of the 7th (Bomb)
Wing at Dyess. After the wing reorganization, he was assigned to the 7th
Logistics Support Squadron as the NCOIC of the commander's
administrative staff. In 1994, Sergeant Deos was deployed to the Joint
Task Force-Southwest Asia, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in support of
Operation SOUTHERN WATCH. Sergeant Deos was promoted to
technical sergeant under the "Stripes of Exceptional Performers"
program in March 1995 and subsequently selected to work in the
Protocol Office of the 7th Bomb Wing. In 1998 he was reassigned to the
7th Operations Support Squadron as chief of the commander's support
staff. While in OSS, Sergeant Deos was also assigned as a wing battle
staff coordinator where he served during Operations DESERT
THUNDER/FOX...the first use of B-1s in combat.
in 1999, Sergeant Deos was chosen as the Deputy Director of the Dyess
Family Support Center (FSC) where he was responsible for and devised
many programs in support of Dyess families. Due to his efforts, he was
selected as the Air Combat Command representative to the HQ USAF
Task for FSCs...a system still in use today. Sergeant Deos culminated
his career as the Superintendent, Information Management, 7th Aircraft
Maintenance Squadron, in June 2004. Sergeant Deos' military awards
and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf
cluster (OLC), Air Force Commendation Medal (1 OLC), Air Force
Achievement Medal (1 OLC), National Defense Service Medal and Air
Force Good Conduct Medal (3 OLC). He holds an Associate Degree in
Information Management from the Commuity Collefe of the Air Force and
is a graduate of the NCO Preparatory Course, NCO Leadership School
and NCO Academy where he was a Distinguished Graduate. He
assumed his current position as the TX-794 ASI in August of 2004.
